Web & Content Editor

The Web Editor we are looking for is the central point for all editorial work published and oversees the editorial workflows and quality assurance processes of all content presented on the website.

Job Purpose

  • Overarching editorial;
  • Effort is made to think holistically when working with the wider organization and other departments to encourage consistency and high quality across all channels;
  • Business goals and requirements for content are determined and clearly understood to deliver maximum business value for published webpages;
  • Consistent tone of voice is clear across the organization and the platform;
  • Consistent/regular updating of the website in a timely fashion; Departmental strategy to update existing content;
  • Content is updated to meet accessibility standards;
  • Develop and implement an editorial calendar;
  • Information architecture is maintained and optimized. Structure of site is logical, information is easy to find and serves stakeholder needs;
  • Overall Search Engine Optimization (SEO) performance is maintained and improved.

Job Requirements

  • Educated to a bachelor degree level;
  • Highly capable web/digital editorial skills are essential, with minimum 3 years experience editing websites and creating digital copy from scratch;
  • Documented editorial or journalistic qualifications;
  • Extensive experience using multiple types of WebCMS;
  • Knowledge of (and demonstrable experience implementing) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practice and web accessibility standards (W3C);
  • Proven experience creating digital marketing and communications copy, including social media copy;
  • Strong understanding of UX and usability, as well as a high awareness of the latest online media trends;
  • Experience liaising and working directly with multiple stakeholders across cultures, regions and different levels of seniority;
  • Experience working on multilingual websites is an advantage;
  • Native English speaker with secondary knowledge of French and/or Spanish and advantage
