As Nutreco strives to gain valuable insights from available data, the Information Orchestrator plays a vital role in enriching and maintaining the data catalog, a repository containing crucial insights. The Information Orchestrator is responsible for proactively enriching the Data Catalog by discovering available data within Nutreco, responding to business requests by actively engaging senior stakeholders for content, and ensuring that data structure changes are correctly processed in the catalog while informing relevant stakeholders as necessary.
Key Areas of Responsibility (KAR's):
Senior Stakeholder Management:
Maintain continuous communication with senior stakeholders on data developments.
Inform senior stakeholders of significant changes and provide in-depth metadata information or demonstrations as requested.
Manage Ingestion Pipeline:
Monitor and collaborate with project management and senior stakeholders to ensure the Data Catalog is up to date with new data sources added through projects and daily operations.
Manage Connection Development:
Develop new connection types for ingestion of new data source types and making them available through the 'Bucket' option, linking into ServiceNow.
Manage resources for development in coordination with the pipeline management.
Create and Maintain Dataset Metadata:
Register metadata in the Data Catalog to make datasets discoverable through standardized services.
Conduct metadata management using appropriate tooling like Collibra or through the service provided to data specialists.
Curate Business-Supplied Metadata:
Assess the quality, correctness, and completeness of metadata supplied by the business, ensuring sufficient and appropriate tagging of data.
Discover Missing Metadata:
Identify and fill gaps in available metadata for known datasets through enquiry from relevant data stewards, experts, or logical custodians.
Support Center for Metadata-related Inquiries:
Address metadata-related inquiries not answered through the Data Catalog, referring to appropriate sources if necessary.
Escalate inquiries to the Director One Data or Data Council as needed.
Curate Generative AI Consumption:
Conduct initial assessment and ensure legitimacy of data use for Generative AI applications, considering responsible AI practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in data management, metadata management, or related roles.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies.
Proficiency in metadata management tools like Collibra or similar platforms.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
